Who it's for

Law firms

Agents on the legal systems you already run.

We make your practice management, document and email systems fit to carry agents, then put agents on intake and conflict checks, answers to client questions and time to invoice, with a lawyer at every decision that reaches a client.

One week. One legal workflow. A working example on your own matters.

Praxeum puts AI agents on top of the systems law firms already run. First we fix what stops your practice and document systems from carrying agents, then agents take over intake and conflict checks, answers to client questions, and time to invoice, with a lawyer signing off on anything a client sees, every action logged, and the firm owning it.

Workflows we build for law firms.

By department, with where most firms start.

  • Client intake and files

    Where most firms start

    1. A new matter comes in
    2. The agent does it, on record: Read against clients and parties
    3. The agent does it, on record: Possible conflicts listed
    4. A person decides: A partner decides each conflict
    5. Matter opened, on record

With company memory Knows which parties and matters your partners treat as a conflict, and the calls they made before.

    Also: Client questions, Engagement letters

  • Time and billing

    1. The month ends
    2. The agent does it, on record: Time captured from calendar and mail
    3. The agent does it, on record: Narratives drafted
    4. The agent does it, on record: Invoice per matter drafted
    5. A person decides: The responsible lawyer approves
    6. Sent, on record

With company memory Knows which clients have agreed rates or caps, and which partner decides on write-offs.

    Also: Unbilled work review

  • Compliance and risk files

    1. A Wwft matter opens
    2. The agent does it, on record: Identity and ownership checks prepared
    3. The agent does it, on record: Result recorded with its sources
    4. A person decides: The lawyer decides on the client
    5. Identification on record

With company memory Knows which client situations your firm checks more closely, and the reasons on file.

Where the work stalls in law firms.

  • Not adopted

The firm licensed an AI drafting tool, and the lawyers still start from last year's document, because the tool does not know the firm's precedents or its matters.

  • Intake by email

New matters arrive by email, conflict checks run by asking around, and the engagement letter goes out days later.

  • Client questions

Clients ask more and more questions between updates, by email and by phone, and a lawyer answers each one from the file by hand.

  • Time written up late

When time is written up at the end of the week from memory, hours slip through and invoices wait until it is in.

Three workflows that are usually the first candidates.

Examples to start your own list from, each run by agents that work alongside your team as co-workers. The AI Sprint finds the ones that fit your operation.

Intake and conflict checks

Today
A prospective client emails, a partner reads it, someone asks the office whether we have acted against the other party, and the engagement letter waits.
Agents take over
Agents read the request, run the conflict check against the firm's matters and parties, draft the intake summary and the engagement letter from the firm's templates, and open the matter.
A person decides
A lawyer approves the conflict check result and the engagement letter before anything is sent; a possible conflict always goes to a partner.
The audit trail records
The request, the parties checked, the result, who approved it and what was sent are recorded per matter.
Your team owns
The conflict rules, the intake questions and the letter templates are the firm's own, in the practice system.

Answers to client questions

Today
A client emails a list of questions about the matter, and a lawyer searches the matter file, the correspondence and the firm's notes to answer each one.
Agents take over
Agents read the questions, find the relevant passages in the matter file and the firm's documents, draft an answer to each with its source, and mark the questions that need a lawyer's judgment.
A person decides
The lawyer reviews and approves every answer before it is sent; a question that touches strategy or advice is always answered by the lawyer.
The audit trail records
The questions, the sources used, the drafts, the reviewer and the version sent are recorded per matter.
Your team owns
The answer style, the sources agents may use and the rules for what goes to a lawyer belong to the firm.

Time to invoice

Today
Hours are reconstructed on Friday from the calendar and the inbox, narratives are written from memory, and the invoice waits for the partner's review.
Agents take over
Agents capture time from the calendar, documents and email as the work happens, draft the narratives in the firm's style, and assemble the invoice per matter.
A person decides
The responsible lawyer approves every time entry and every invoice before it is sent, and decides on write-offs.
The audit trail records
The source of every entry, the narrative, the approval and the invoice version are recorded per matter.
Your team owns
The narrative style, the rate cards and the approval thresholds are the firm's own.

What your agents need to know in a law firm.

  • What counts as a conflict at your firm, including the relationships nobody entered in the practice system.
  • Which documents and earlier answers the firm trusts for which question, and which questions always go to a partner.
  • Which hours are billed, written down or written off, and the narratives each client accepts without questions.

Where law firms usually start.

Intake and conflict checks, for most firms. Every new matter starts there, the conflict rules and the intake questions exist, and the judgment line is clear: a lawyer approves the check and a partner decides on any possible conflict. It is also the step a new client waits on before the work can begin.

How it would go

  1. 01The AI Sprint maps the current intake with the lawyers and secretaries who run it, and reads what in your practice management system, document system and inbox must change before agents can carry it.
  2. 02The working example runs the conflict check and drafts the intake summary for one month of real requests, nothing sent.
  3. 03The build adds the approval gate, the partner's decision on possible conflicts, the audit trail per matter, and the handover to the firm.
  4. 04Answers to client questions and time to invoice follow once intake runs.

The governed layer in a law firm.

Where a lawyer signs off

Every conflict check result, every answer and document that leaves the firm, every time entry and every invoice. Agents prepare, lawyers commit.

What the audit trail records

The parties checked, the sources behind every answer, the source of every hour, and who approved what. Enough to answer a client, a regulator or a dispute over an invoice.

What the firm owns

The conflict rules, the intake questions, the templates and the runbooks, in the practice and document systems you already run. When a template changes, the firm changes it.

Start with one legal workflow.

One week, fixed scope. You leave with a working example of one workflow on your own matters, a read of your practice management, document and email systems, and a plan for what to build next.

What you get

  • Working example of one workflow
  • Stack read
  • Risks and value
  • Roadmap

Questions from law firms.

Does client confidentiality survive this?
Matter data stays in your systems under your access rules; the agents read and write there, and every action on a matter is logged. Which models may see which data is a design decision the AI Sprint makes explicit rather than a default.
Can an agent send anything to a client?
Not by design. Agents draft; a lawyer approves every answer, document, letter and invoice before it leaves the firm. The gate is built in, so nobody can switch it off by mistake.
Our precedents are in a document system nobody has cleaned up. Does that matter?
It matters, and it is what the AI Sprint reads first: what in your document system must change before agents can draft from it. Usually less than you fear, and the answer is part of the AI Sprint.
Does this replace our practice management system?
No. The agents work inside the practice management, document and email systems you already run. Replacing a system is a decision the AI Sprint can inform, never a precondition.
Which workflow should we start with?
Usually intake and conflict checks, because every matter starts there and the rules exist. The AI Sprint confirms whether that holds for your firm or whether client questions or time to invoice come first.
What do we own at the end?
The system, its documentation, its rules and templates, and the runbooks. We hand it over so the firm runs it without us.
